NSDC was privileged to be present at 2 of the biggest events in sports science and physical education in the country. The 8^th PEFI (Physical Education Foundation of India) National Conference successfully concluded on Feb 6-7 2026 and our NSDC Delhi Chapter members Dr Sabina Aggarwal and Dr Aparna Mishra attended the event.  Held at the NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi, the event focused on the theme, “Global Spotlight: India’s Transformative Vision for the 2036 Olympics”. The landmark event brought together PE teachers, sports scientists, coaches and researchers to discuss the integration of sports sciences in training, sports leadership and athlete performance. Our sports dentists made their presence by discussing aspects about how oral health can affect athlete performance and how it can be integrated into sports science and physical education. In another event, Reliance Foundation Hospital had organized a 2-day Conference on Sports Science and Sports Medicine on 14-15 Feb 2026 at Mumbai where national and international speakers spoke about varied topics related to Athlete training, Injury management and High Performance. NSDC Director Dr Sneha Divekar got a chance to network and interact with many stalwarts and people in the sports industry who are working for athletes and convey the importance of oral health for athletes. Many of them indeed were amazed to hear the type of unique work that NSDC does for athletes across the country and were interested to play a role in helping this cause. Thus, NSDC is making its presence felt by being part of key events in sports science and physical education. This will pave way for Holistic treatments and care for Athletes in the future!
