NSDC Represented at International ISSEM Platform in Nov 2024

ISSEM had a one day Sports Medicine Webinar on 10th March 2024 in which Director of NSDC, Dr Sneha Divekar participated as a Speaker and gave a lecture on “Sports Dentistry – the missing link in athlete health care! Later, ISSEM had their 2nd International Conference on Sports Medicine at BHU, Varanasi on 15th-16th Nov 2024. Among an array of National and International Speakers on Sports Medicine and Science, Dr Sneha, Director of NSDC, got the privilege to speak on Sports Dentistry. IT IS FIRST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS DENTISTRY IN INDIA THAT A DENTIST GOT TO LECTURE ON A SPORTS MEDICINE PLATFORM OF SUCH A LARGE PROPORTION. Dr Peter Brukner, one of the most senior and founder members of Sports Medicine in Australia were present at the conference. Dr. Sneha got a chance to share the mission and vision of NSDC among an august gathering of top sports science and sports medicine faculties and specialists in the country. They applauded her efforts for bringing the neglected aspect of oral health of the athletes to the forefront. The interactions at this program will pave a way for sports dentistry to get accepted among the sports medicine circle as one of the essential specialties and not an optional one!
